For the upcoming 2021 model year, Nissan Safety Shield® 360, a suite of advanced driver-assist technologies, comes standard on 10 vehicles in the Nissan lineup. This means that more customers who buy or lease a new 2021 Nissan from Galesburg Nissan will have the added confidence of advanced safety.
The Nissan Safety Shield® 360 suite includes six intelligent active-safety and driver-assist features. Among these are Automatic Emergency Braking Assist with Pedestrian Detection and Rear Automatic Braking, which engage your brakes in the event of a potential collision to mitigate or avoid a crash altogether.
The suite also includes Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Warning, technologies which make it safer to change lanes and helping you stay in your lane. Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps you avoid collisions when backing out of a parking space, and High Beam Assist turns your high beams off when another vehicle is coming toward you.
According to Nissan, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Braking systems reduce the number of crashes with injuries by 56 percent, while Rear Automatic Braking reduces crashes while backing up by 78 percent. That’s confidence you can count on when you’ve got your family in tow.
Currently, Nissan Safety Shield® 360 is standard on six vehicles across the lineup, from the compact Sentra sedan to the sporty Kicks subcompact crossover to the TITAN pickup truck. For 2021, Nissan adds the suite of features to the family-friendly Rogue SUV as well as three other vehicles that haven’t yet been announced.
